Sassai (or Orguglioso) is a beautiful ruined Medieval Castle located in Silius (it was built in 13th Century).
During the war between Corona di Aragona (Crown of Aragon) and Giudicato di Arborea (Sardinian Judicatures), the Castle was detroyed by the soldiers of Mariano IV, Giudice di Arborea to prevent it from ever being used against them (14th Century).
That is how Sassai Castle became the ruins that you see today.
There are a few of explanatory plaques through the Castle that provide historical information (but in italian ...).
The Castle is about ten minutes walk from the road.
